On the afternoon of April 28, 2024, at the invitation of Dr. Ho Van Han - Chief Inspector of the HCMC Health Department, Buzzmetrics coordinated the organization and presentation in the Symposium “Social Media Management in the Health Sector”. The seminar was attended by representatives of the inspection committee of Ho Chi Minh City Health Department and doctors, pharmacists and lawyers who are members of the inspection committee.
Currently, Digital conversion is seen as an inevitable trend, which is a must in every country in the world. Vietnam is not outside this rule either. In recent years, the Government has continuously stepped up the Digital Transformation process and established a shipboard role.
In this context, Ho Van Han, Chief Inspector of Ho Chi Minh City Health Department, offered to organize a Symposium in collaboration with Buzzmetrics, a pioneer in the field of social media research. Having held important positions in many major hospitals, Dr. Han has a deep depth in executive work. Therefore, doctors understand the importance of updating methods and technologies in the service of scientific and effective management.
Seminar on “Social Media Management in Health Sector” lasted 2 hours at the HCMC Department of Health (located at 59 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, District 1). The goal is to help the HCMC Health Department Inspectorate understand how social media works, serving for management inspection work. It can be said that the seminar marked the efforts of state agencies in updating new trends, technologies, serving the general management.
Buzzmetrics (part of YouNetGroup), a leading unit in the field of social media research, coordinated the seminar with the Department of Health Inspectorate. Presented at the seminar, Mr. Tang Gia Hai Lam - CEO of Buzzmetrics, brought new information based on collecting and analyzing social media discussion. Thereby, Mr. Tang Gia Hai Lam not only showed the application of technology in medical management, but also helped doctors better understand the situation of Vietnamese social networks from a medical perspective. Some interesting information was presented by Mr. Hai Lam in the workshop:
1. General discussion of diseases, market share of discussion of disease groups on MXH Vietnam
2. Risks in the healing journey on social networks.
3. How an “online movement” is formed.
4th. Manage the “flow of discussion” instead of the management of the “flow of information”
5. Application of social network listening technology to the collection, processing, analysis and alarm of information.
6. Process sources to limit the influence of fake news
To clarify his thesis, Mr. Tang Gia Hai Lam also presented some interesting case studies, most notably the process of monitoring the COVID-19 epidemic on social networks. In this way, we can see: Social networks are a huge repository of discussion and change constantly over time. Being able to combine an understanding of technology, an understanding of analytical strategy, and an understanding of the profession will bring positive effects to management.
The workshop was successfully held with participation from doctors, pharmacists, lawyers and members of the inspection committee. The openness to new knowledge from members has brought practical questions that are highly applicable in the management of health information in cyberspace. With years of market research experience, Buzzmetrics representatives actively provide guidance and advice for the Inspectorate to take a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
After the end of the seminar, Dr. Ho Van Han, a representative of the inspection committee, appreciated the information and research methods presented by Buzzmetrics representatives. Doctors as well as Buzzmetrics representatives agreed with the proposal to continue to connect, exchange and hold more intensive workshops. The aim is for the medical inspection to take place more effectively with support from social network analysis.
